When selecting an email service, really consider what you need. You may not need all the bells and whistles that can complicate the system that you will be using.
If you’re starting from scratch to build your mailing list, your first step is building the structure to capture your leads. Know what platform you’ll use and get it ready to begin using. Next, you’ll need to start generating leads though a variety of methods such as opt ins, lead magnets, joint ventures, speaking engagements, virtual summits, etc.
Remember to regularly clean out your mailing lists and scrub it of people who aren’t opening to aid your deliverability. A mailing list isn’t about how many people are on it – it’s about how many people are engaging with your communications.
A common question is “how often should you email your list?”. Consider how often your list wants to hear from you and how often you can realistically be consistent in your communications. You might also be asking when you should be emailing your audience. Ask yourself when you audience is most open to getting information about the problem you can solve for them.
